Who We Are
Sumthin Xtra is a Middle Tennessee non-profit dedicated to the power of service. We don’t just volunteer—we create meaningful opportunities for our community to give back. Our mission is to provide a positive outlet for everyone, including youth, college students, and adults. We also offer specialized pathways for juveniles and individuals on probation for non-violent offenses to complete their service hours in a supportive environment. Additionally, we partner with youth programs looking to strengthen their impact through community fundraising and engagement.
What We Do
.In Middle Tennessee, Sumthin Xtra connects people with high-impact service opportunities, specifically managing teams that work concession stands at major local venues like Nissan Stadium and MTSU.
We focus on the following key areas:

Supportive Re-entry: We offer specific volunteer pathways for individuals on probation for non-violent offenses and juveniles, providing a constructive environment to complete their legal requirements.
Youth Program Sponsorship: We partner with and sponsor youth programs, helping them raise funds and build community engagement through our established volunteer networks.
Event Operations: Our teams handle food prep, service, and physical labor during major events, turning standard venue work into a team-building opportunity for the community. UnitedWayVolunteer.org
Volunteer Requirements To participate in our events, volunteers typically need:
Attire: A black shirt, closed-toe shoes (no Crocs), and black or khaki pants/shorts (no leggings).
