Who We Are

The mission of TN Voices is to be the collaborative leader guiding mental health transformation and our vision is to build hope for all generations. Tennessee Voices for Children, Inc. (also known as TN Voices) was formally organized in 1990 by Tipper Gore as a statewide coalition of individuals, agencies and organizations working together as a Steering Council to promote children’s health and education services. TN Voices (TNV) has progressed to become a statewide and national source of referral, support, and advocacy for families and the systems that serve them. Through the Statewide Family Network and its other ten main programs, our organization has informed, supported, and assisted parents and providers across the state. In the past fiscal year, TNV has reached more than 50,000 parents/caregivers, family members, and professionals (providers, educators, other advocates, etc.).

What We Do

Today, TN Voices offers a variety of mental health programs, including in-home family support, therapy, early childhood social-emotional development, and peer-led mental health services. TN Voices was founded as a statewide coalition of individuals, agencies and organizations working together to promote children’s health and education services and to help parents navigate these systems to secure necessary support for their children. Over time, as mental health needs in the community continued to grow, the organization expanded its services beyond educational advocacy to address a wide range of mental health challenges affecting children, youth, individuals, and families across Tennessee.
