First United Methodist Church Missions
At First United Methodist Church our mission is to "Grow Disciples of Jesus Christ who know Him, love Him, serve Him and share Him for the transformation of Murfreesboro and the World".
The mission focus at FUMC continues to be on the Housing, Health and Education of people within our community, across our region and throughout the world.
Every month we have a “Saturday Service Day” as a congregation. We have multiple projects for all ages and ability levels where families can serve together in the community. Everyone is invited! We plan the projects and have the materials.
FUMC, Murfreesboro is known throughout Rutherford County for our Wheelchair Ramp ministry. We build wheelchair ramps for our neighbors in need. Requests for wheelchair ramps can be made on the FUMC website. Volunteers can serve with the Wheelchair Ramp Ministry has a part of Second Saturday and other FUMC Serves events. All skill levels and ages are welcome.
FUMC has a team of United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) trained Early Response Team (ERT) members. We serve in tornado, flooding, and hurricane disasters throughout the Southeast. ERT training will be offered each year.
Check out our website for more opportunities to serve.
