We are looking for a team of volunteers to provide childcare for Born Learning Academy Workshops. The volunteer commitment is from 5:00-7:15 on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Northfield Elementary.
Childcare volunteers will be with a group of children ages infant through 12 years. The majority of children will be in the pre-k and early elementary age group. Murfreesboro City Schools staff will provide supplies and activities for engaging childcare.
This is a great way to interact with the families we are serving and support the Born Learning program.
The United Way Born Learning Academy offers tips, tools and resources to make sure kids are ready to learn when they start kindergarten. It's a series of six free workshops that help turn everyday activities into early learning moments. Parents and caregivers with a child who hasn't yet entered Kindergarten and/or parents-to-be who are expecting a child are invited to register for the Academy. Workshops are held in the evening at Northfield Elementary. We provide dinner and fun childcare during each session.
This Academy will be held at Northfield Elementary from 5:30-7:00 pm on the following dates:
