Why Is Stuff the Bus Important?
Families struggling to make ends meet often have to choose between buying school supplies or putting food on the table. United Way is committed to meeting the needs of this community and supporting our students to make sure they have what they need to start the school year ready to learn.
Thanks to the support of our community, the United Way of South Central Tennessee Stuff the Bus initiative has provided over 22,000 local students with school supplies since 2012. This year's collected school supplies will be distributed across Rutherford County Schools, Murfreesboro City Schools, and Cannon County Schools.
Items may also be dropped off at Mitchell Neilson Primary School, August 4th from 9am-1pm. Volunteers are also needed to sort and pack the supplies to prepare to ship to our partnering schools on August 5th. Volunteer shifts are available.
Together, we can ensure kids in Rutherford and Cannon Counties will have the supplies they need to start the school year ready to learn.
