We are seeking volunteers to help enhance the landscaping and overall appearance of our main office so it feels welcoming, beautiful, and uplifting for the families we serve. First impressions matter, and a clean, well-maintained outdoor space helps families feel respected and supported from the moment they arrive.

Our outdoor project includes installing landscape fabric/weed barriers, creating or refreshing flower beds, planting shrubs or flowers to improve curb appeal, and improving access to entryways with updated stepping stones or other safe pathway solutions. We also need someone to install our new mailbox (we have the mailbox and concrete). We ask that volunteer groups provide and donate all necessary landscaping materials, plants, and supplies needed to complete the project. (We already have the landscaping fabric).

This project can be done anytime during the week of April 20-25th, with advanced scheduling. Your support will help us create a safe, inviting environment where families feel comfortable and valued.

This includes the Beesley Animal Clinic. We share a building and hope to get the first coat done on Friday and the second on Saturday.  If needed, we can do shifts.

We will have all paint supplies- paint, rollers, pans, dropcloths. Staff will be on hand too!

We are seeking volunteers to host donation drives to collect baby essentials for families with young children in our programs. Many of the families we serve are working to stabilize their lives and provide safe, nurturing homes for their children, and access to basic baby supplies can be a significant financial burden. Volunteer groups can make a meaningful difference by organizing workplace, school, church, or community donation drives to collect much-needed items such as:

These supplies are distributed directly to families with infants and toddlers, helping reduce stress and ensuring children have the care items they need to stay clean, healthy, and comfortable. By hosting a donation drive, volunteers help strengthen families and support healthy beginnings for our community’s youngest children.

Suggested set-up: Designate a collection spot at your office/church, share the list of needed items and how it supports local families served by TTT, and set a deadline for when items should be donated. After the deadline, schedule a time to deliver donations to our office, or we can come to you. We would love to take pictures to celebrate the efforts of your team's donation drive and give thanks through public recognition!

The Journey Home needs 10 volunteers to polish the stainless steel appliances in the kitchen and clean the tables in the community cafe. The event will take place on Tuesday, April 21st from 1:30pm to 3:30pm.

Help us keep our youth on the move — literally! Volunteers will wash, scrub, and detail the Boys & Girls Club transportation buses that carry kids to and from programs every day. From exterior washing to wiping down windows and cleaning interior surfaces, your effort ensures our young members travel in a clean, safe, and welcoming vehicle they can be proud of. No experience needed — just show up ready to work and make a difference for the kids in our community. All supplies and equipment will be provided.

Help us create a clean, calm, and welcoming space for the children and families we serve. The Child Advocacy Center is a place where young survivors and their loved ones come during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. A clean, well-maintained environment goes a long way in helping them feel safe, cared for, and supported. Volunteers will assist with general office cleaning tasks including dusting, vacuuming, mopping floors, wiping down surfaces, cleaning restrooms, tidying common areas, and taking out trash. This is a meaningful, hands-on way to support the Center's mission without any special skills or experience required.

Tasks May Include:

Dusting and wiping down surfaces and furniture

Vacuuming and mopping floors

Cleaning restrooms and kitchen/break room areas

Emptying trash and replacing liners

Tidying waiting rooms and common spaces

Light organizing and decluttering

Help us make a beautiful first impression for the children and families who come to us for help. The outside of our building is the first thing families see when they arrive at the Child Advocacy Center, and a clean, well-kept exterior helps create a sense of safety and comfort from the moment they walk through the gate. Volunteer Project: Facility & Fleet Beautification Boys & Girls Club – Pressure Washing & Bus Cleaning Join us for a hands-on service day giving our Boys & Girls Club a fresh look! Volunteers will pressure wash the picnic area, as well as scrub and detail the Club's transportation buses. Your effort directly contributes to a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for the youth we serve. No experience necessary — just bring your energy and a willingness to get a little wet!

Help keep our community safe by volunteering at our upcoming Drug Take Back Event! The Prevention Coalition for Success is looking for enthusiastic, dependable volunteers to assist with collecting unused, unwanted, and expired medications from Rutherford County residents. Keeping prescription drugs out of the wrong hands is one of the most effective ways to prevent substance misuse and protect the youth and families in our community. This is a simple, impactful, and rewarding way to serve — no experience required! How You Can Help: Volunteers will assist with greeting community members, directing traffic or foot flow, accepting and handling medication drop-offs, and supporting event staff throughout the day. This is a friendly, community-facing role that makes a real difference in the fight against drug misuse right here in Rutherford County.

Tasks May Include:

Welcoming and directing community members

Accepting and processing medication drop-offs

Assisting with event setup and breakdown

Answering general questions and sharing prevention resources

Supporting Coalition staff as needed throughout the event

CASA — Court Appointed Special Advocates — is a nonprofit organization operating across the state of Tennessee, with hundreds of dedicated volunteers. Our mission is to advocate for children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect, ensuring their voices are heard in the court system.

As the CASA Supervisor for Bedford County, I can tell you firsthand: the need in our community is real, it is urgent, and it is growing. DCS caseworkers are overwhelmed, and the children navigating the court system deserve someone in their corner who is focused entirely on their best interest.

Bedford County currently has no active CASA volunteers — which means we have been unable to take on as many children's cases as we need to. Every unassigned case is a child without an advocate. We are asking our community to step up and help change that.

Once trained and assigned, you will be matched with a case involving one or more children currently in DCS custody in Bedford County. Your role is to:

1.     Make contact with the child or children at least once per month.

2.     Form an independent, unbiased opinion on what is truly in that child's best interest.

3.     Document your findings and share them with the CASA supervisor, who can bring them to court in a formal report (you will be trained on this).

4.     Optionally attend court hearings — but this is not required. The CASA supervisor is present at Bedford County court every Monday and can represent your findings.

This role is flexible. You work on your own schedule and your own time — this is something you can do alongside your existing commitments.

To become a CASA volunteer, you must:

5.     Be 21 years of age or older

6.     Pass a background check and drug screening

7.     Complete an in-person interview and application

8.     Complete 30+ hours of online training

9.     Attend a full-day, in-office training session to complete certification

10.Pass a reference check before being assigned a case

We're looking for volunteers to help pressure wash a building at our school. Help us create a clean, welcoming environment for our students and staff! Bring if you have it: Pressure washer, closed-toe shoes, and clothes you don't mind getting wet. We'll provide cleaning supplies, water access, and snacks for all volunteers!

We're looking for volunteers to paint the office entry area, creating a clean and welcoming first impression for visitors, donors, and community partners. No professional experience required, though volunteers with painting experience are a plus. Come dressed in clothes you don't mind getting messy and ready to roll up your sleeves for a great cause. Your effort will help reflect the pride and professionalism of an organization that works every day to strengthen our community!

Put your heart into supporting a clinic that serves those who need it most! Volunteers will help with a variety of meaningful tasks including writing handwritten thank-you notes to donors, assembling oral health care kits, stocking and organizing clinical supplies, and freshening up the waiting room with updated flyers and books and toys for the children's corner.

Help us spruce up Discovery School! We're looking for volunteers to help mulch garden beds and landscaped areas around campus to boost curb appeal, protect plants, and keep weeds at bay. No experience needed — just wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty, bring work gloves and sturdy shoes, and come ready to make a difference.

Shovels, rakes, and wheelbarrows are welcome but not required. A beautiful school creates a better learning environment for everyone. Come be a part of it!

Spread a little sunshine this spring! Warren County Meals on Wheels is looking for cheerful volunteers to help pack spring gift baskets for our beloved clients. The seniors and homebound individuals we serve look forward to these special deliveries, and your hands help make that moment of joy possible. Volunteers will gather together to assemble and pack spring-themed baskets filled with seasonal goodies and thoughtful items that remind our clients they are seen, valued, and loved by their community. It's a fun, feel-good volunteer experience that makes a heartwarming difference!

Sorting and organizing basket items

Assembling and packing baskets

Wrapping and decorating finished baskets

Labeling and preparing baskets for delivery

The Child Advocacy Center works to provide safety, justice, and healing for victims of child abuse and sexual abuse. April is Child Abuse Prevention month and we are celebrating with the 11th Hometown Heroes Walk for Children! We need help setting up the picnic for walkers at Oakland's Mansion. Tasks include helping put out yard signs, decorating picnic tables, serving food and water, and assisting with trash disposal and clean up.
