What We Do
Programming Overview Carpe Artista is a Smyrna, TN based non-profit organization that promotes positive culture by developing arts communities and creatives. We do this by providing artistic training, leadership development and community engagement opportunities that help young creatives reach their full potential in character, calling, craft and community. We also create and manage art related classes, events, performances and camps for local residents of all ages, interests and skill levels. Our Core Values: • Character - showing morality and compassion to everyone in every way. • Calling - using our creativity to positively change our world.. • Craft - pushing our creativity, commitment, and competence to reach artistic excellence • Community - positively serving, teaching, leading and entertaining our local communities and regions. The programs and activities of Carpe Artista here in Smyrna are the models by which we will expand to other parts of the US and the world. With your support and patronage, our Twenty Five Hundred by 2025 project will see us train and develop 2,500 high-impact creatives in 20+ locations by the year 2025. Carpe Artista - the world made better by art. Carpe Academy: Carpe Academy for Creatives is Carpe Artista’s training program for artists of all types and ages. Carpe Academy offers the entire community the opportunity to explore visual, musical and dramatic arts through a wide variety of instructional opportunities, performances and events. For kids, we provide a wide range of private lessons, recitals, community displays, performance juries and master classes. CAFC also offers multiple summer camps. We also encourage adults to explore creative expressions they always wanted to try or once enjoyed when younger by offering: - 4, 6 or 8 week classes in art and music - Single evening instructional events - Juke Box Hero rock camp with a final Battle of the Bands Showcase Event that is quickly becoming a favorite Smyrna community event! And speaking of community, connection with Smyrna and Middle Tennessee is vital for Carpe Academy and Carpe Artista. We are heavily involved with the support and coordination of festivals, concerts, shows and other cultural events open to the public. These events engage local businesses and industry to partner for cultural development while allowing Carpe to present our creative works to the community. Carpe Academy - grow your talents, grow your world. Carpe Studio: Carpe Studio is Carpe Artista’s advanced business, culture and community leadership program for students in High School and college. Carpe Studio offers in-depth training in leadership, world view, culture, character, entrepreneurship and all aspects of business management to those exceptionally skilled creatives who are intent in pursuing a career in the arts. Students who are admitted into this program will meet 2-3 times per week after school for intensive training that also includes advanced artistic lessons. Though every activity of Carpe Artista moves us closer to our stated mission of transforming culture globally, Carpe Studio is our opportunity to deeply influence the next generation of artistic culture changers.
