Why Is Stuff the Bus Important?
Families struggling to make ends meet often have to choose between buying school supplies or putting food on the table. United Way is committed to meeting the needs of this community and supporting our students to make sure they have what they need to start the school year ready to learn.
Thanks to the support of our community, the United Way of South Central TN's Stuff the Bus initiative has provided over 22,000 local students with school supplies since 2012.
Here’s How You Can Help
On July 8th, 2025, we are partnering with Chick-fil-A, 1708 N Jackson St, to host our Stuff the Bus event during their Car Cruise-in for TCS Schools from 5:00pm-8:00pm. Designated Collection Sites will collect items between now-July 8th, 2025. Sites will then bring their collected items to Chick-fil-A (Tullahoma) location on July 8, 2025.
Volunteers are needed to help on July 8th to load supplies on the bus and unload at the First Christian Church Annex. On July 9th and 10th we will need volunteers to help sort and pack the supplies to prepare to deliver to our partnering schools. We will sort and pack items at The First Christian Church Annex (201 NW Atlantic St, Tullahoma). Volunteer shifts are available to help deliver as well.
Together, we can ensure kids in Tullahoma have the supplies they need to start the school year ready to learn.
